Your journey begins as we head north from Chiang Mai into the rugged heart of the highlands. Our first stop is Wat Ban Den, a stunning complex of blue-roofed temples and intricate wood carvings. We then plunge into the subterranean wonders of the Chiang Dao Cave, exploring vast limestone chambers beneath Thailand’s third-highest peak. As the road winds upward, we stop at Wat Thathon, where you’ll enjoy a breathtaking panorama of the Kok River valley, just a stone’s throw from the Myanmar border. We end the day in the charming mountain village of Doi Mae Salong. Here, you’ll visit the Chinese Nationalist Army Museum to uncover the fascinating history of the “Lost Army” before settling in for a peaceful night amidst the cool mountain air.
Wake up to the scent of fresh tea leaves. After a morning visit to the mountaintop Wat Santikhiri, we’ll head to the 101 Tea Plantation. Walk through the terraced rows, taste world-class organic Oolong, and soak in the emerald-green views. Next, we travel to the world-renowned Golden Triangle, where the borders of Thailand, Laos, and Myanmar meet at the confluence of the Mekong and Ruak Rivers. After lunch, we step back in time at Chiang Saen, the ancient 14th-century capital of the Lanna Kingdom, and visit the Longneck Karen village. Here, you’ll learn about the profound cultural identity and craftsmanship of the Kayan people, famous for the brass coils that symbolize grace and beauty.
On our final day, we explore the three “colors” that define Chiang Rai’s modern spirit: The White Temple (Wat Rong Khun): A surreal, shimmering masterpiece of glass and plaster designed by legendary artist Chalermchai Kositpipat. The Blue Temple (Wat Rong Suea Ten): Step into a vibrant sapphire dreamscape filled with intricate gold murals and a glowing white Buddha. Wat Huay Pla Kang: Witness the massive 79-meter Guanyin statue (the “Lady Buddha”) and take an elevator to the top for a final, stunning bird’s-eye view of the city. On the return drive to Chiang Mai, we’ll make a relaxing stop at the Mae Khachan Hot Spring. Dip your feet in the soothing mineral waters—the perfect way to recharge before arriving back at your hotel.
8:00 AM Pick up from your hotel in Chiang Mai and head to the north of Chiang Mai to visit Chiang Dao, walk on the main part with electric light see flow stone, stalactites & stalagmites, ancient reclining Buddha at the end, deeper and darker walking path with lantern for 40 minutes can be added on to match with client condition. Visiting Lahu village called Baan Doi Lam located on the mountain, learn the history and traditional culture of them, enjoy lunch, continue to Wat Thaton temple, take a short walk to the top of the Crystal Pagoda and view the panorama of Mae Kok River Valley.
